Camp 101 and Deep Dive: Celebrating Black Lives Counselor

Joselyn Guaman immigrated to the United States from Ecuador at the age of eleven. She was the first in her family to graduate from college–she graduated from St Joseph’s College with a major of Mathematics and Computer Science. For the past six years, Joselyn has been involved in different capacities with community work within different organizations. She is currently working as a community organizer at Mixteca Inc. Organization, as part of the ActionNYC in Schools program. Joselyn helps students in public schools and their communities to get access to free immigration services and connect to resources. As part of her work she also supports schools in learning how to support and empower their immigrant students and their families.
